Tatay is best in many ways. He lived his life to the fullest, have touched so many lives and made a difference.

I might have only few moments shared with him, but those few moments was been the most cherished, treasured and full of wisdom, memories that also express his life well lived.

He played so many valued and meaningful roles that put impact in our lives, he has been a very loving husband, a resposible father, a thoughtful grandfather and a friend that you can always depend on, in deed, he is the best man.

He was also a very faithful man, and I believe that it his faith in God that always guided his actions, words, and deeds.

Another reason why I consider him the best man is because incredibly, in their very simple and modest life was able to gave his children the best education they could ever have, and that is the legacy he left that even us, the grandchildren is continually benefitting from until today.

He might not received any award from any famous award giving body, he need not one. Because I know, for him, the success of his children is enough award. I remember in one occassion when Tatay is so proud sharing the success stories of his children, he is so proud. But I am more proud of Tatay. Because it is him who made that possible.

I cannot find the right words to say goodbye to him because it is hard for me to say goodbye to somebody close to my heart. But this circumstance is a normal part of life and inevitable, i must say goodbye. You left us a legacy that i promise that we will carry on, thank you very much for leaving us a better place to live. We will always carry with us the memories that defined you, memories that we will always hold dear. We love you and we will miss you.

NT (NurseTrainee) Reaping the benefits of nursing training

This is my very first hospital exposure after my graduation. Of course I am so excited to wear my nursing uniform again and go on duty. At first I am ambivalent and a little anxious and try to adjust to my transition from academe to practice.

I am undergoing my training for almost a month now and on the process of learning and improving my skills. I remember the first day of my training, how awkward I was, my shaky hands like I am experiencing pill rolling tremors, my cardiac rate skyrockets, my pupils dilates and seems like I’m on panic attack; well, maybe all of these is because I am not confident on my skills.

But after few weeks of continuous training, I also noticed that I gain improvements both personally and professionally.

There are lots of benefits that an advance beginner nurse can gain by undergoing training in hospitals, but I think one should consider a hospital that will help them to grow in the practice of the profession. These benefits includes skills improvement like facilitating procedures that are under the care of nurses, through training you also have chances to encounter different medical problems and being able to understand them well, that also gives you the chance on how to handle those cases. Another benefit is the chance to interact and consult different medical professionals like doctors, medical technologists and staff nurses that are more equipped with medical knowledge that can give you tons of information that will help you to become a better nurse, you also have the chance to build professional relationships with them who shares interests with yours. Another benefit is the chance to interact with your patients, to build nurse-patient relationships and utilize therapeutic communication as you interact with them and help them to address their concerns at all costs.

These are only some of the huge benefits that a nurse trainee can reap. By undergoing training I also come to understand the depth of this career that nursing is not simply offering your service, but offering it deep from your heart. That is what matters because that is how we will be remembered as a nurse. To the rest of my fellow trainees, let us enjoy it, learn everyday and carry on.

Few days from now and classes will commence. It’s about two years that I am done with school and leave all those lectures and exams behind, but everytime that the month of june will come it makes me remember of all those experinces that I had when am still in school especially the first day, in fact i can still remember the smell of class rooms during the first day that seems like cool breeze inviting me to learn.

Last May 18 we went at Isdaan Restaurant which is located at Gerona Tarlac. Isdaan is a restaurant that serves variety of Filipino cuisine with a very traditional and relaxing ambiance. You will experience eating in the floating bahay kubo that is surrounded by golden coy fishes which you can feed while waiting for your food to be served. The dishes are served in a very traditional manner, a hand crafted flate covered by banana leaf, steamed rice on small kaldero and other cuisines on palayok. While eating, you will be serenaded with songs from the band that roams around. Isdaan is not just a place of good foods; but indeed it is a theme park surrounded by Giant Mayan sculptures, Golden Buddha and life sized sculpures of President Aquino, Senator Aquino, President Estrada, Cardinal Sin and other sculptures where you will enjoy photo shooting. If you need an anger management it is a perfect place to go to for their famous Taksyapo where you could express and realease your anger by breaking plates and other items on the wall.
